What she saw when she opened the door was the key to her life.  She stared, and watched as her life was irrevocably changed.  Love, hate, fear and then finally indifference flashed before her eyes as it seemed she watched her breath leave her body in capsules of precious gasps.  The decision was made in a fraction of a second and was obvious.  The emotion that she experienced gave way to relief as she closed the door, grabbed her suitcase again and left.

She was smiling when she realized she’d been watching her freedom unfold.
